Piping thread connections seemed dimensionally off, slightly oversized making the threaded hook up unusually tight to start.Seems to be working without no issues so far using it for a week.I installed this in a cargo trailer that I have converted into a toy hauler. Cannot believe that my wife and I can each take a shower and not run out of hot water. About the only thing I would change is that I would put a drain in the bottom. This is only a minor problem because it is light enough to pull out of the camper and drain for winter.I bought this one to replace a Bosch heater that was leaking after a couple of years. Actually, had two Bosch under-counter heaters... both which started leaking (from the tank), so I'm avoiding that brand going forward. So far, this one has been working fine. The installation is a little more involved. YOU actually have to install the hot and cold taps on the top of the heater (doesn't come pre-installed) and the connections must be turned EXTREMELY tight to avoid leaks. I thought I had done so the first time only to find a small leak occurred later. A little more elbow grease and the leak stopped.Other than that... it's been working as expected. Our water heater is about 90 feet from the kitchen sink. My wife was tired of wasting a couple gallons of water waiting for warm water to reach the kitchen so I started searching. Our plumbing (on a house built in 1938) was not especially accessible but cutting the copper with a sawzall and using sharkbite fittings (the plumbing went through the wall to wall-mounted fixtures) routed the hot water line under the sink. I put a bypass valve inline and valves on the in and out lines in case I need to shut the water to this heater off sometime for whatever reason. This was all hot water line so the supply line went in the cold side and the out line went back into the wall up to the fixture. The morning after installation, with the thermostat on max, It took one second to get very hot water (I turned it down) to the faucet. My wife was thrilled. On a normal bit of plumbing, with the lines under the sink, I could have been done in much less time and with much less PEX pipe but it worked out well. This unit won the reviews war. I'll update later if there are problems but it's a nice, neat installation. We have to turn it off when we run the dishwasher as they are both on the same breaker but this 2-gallon unit will heat water from cold to hot in a very short time.Like many reviewers, I used this under the kitchen sink to get much faster hot water to the sink (and not waste a gallon or two). It worked great. I measured the power consumption over time and found that it averages about 32 watts over time. If you used more water, your average power consumption will be higher. My only complaint is that the pipe threads were not cleaned up. They had some kind of scale (other reviewers noted this). I had to tighten the 1/2 inch FIP fitting a little tighter than I thought I might. That's a problem because those fittings leak if they're too tight as well! My advice, tighten to hand tight and another 1/2 turn with a wrench. Then turn on the pressure and tighten to stop the leaks.just what I neededIt takes about 2 minutes for the tankless to get hot water to the sink, we were always washing our hands in cold water. Now the 4 gal tank is under the sink and hot water is there instantly. The wife is happy and now wants one in the bathroom.Installed this little darling under kitchen sink. Took about 3 hours, including going to Home Hardware for parts. Got tired ? of wasting a couple of gallon of cold water waiting for hot water to arrive as the sink is about 40 feet from the main gas fired tank. I just tapped into the existing pex hot water line and ran it to the inlet side of the heater. I also installed a bypass valve in the hot line just in case there is a problem with the heater. The pressure release valve I plumbed into the 2” clean out. Most likely not code but it works for me.In the future, the far distant future I hope, I will just have to switch to the bypass and cut off the pex below the ball valves at the tank and replace. Seems to work very nicely, for when I plugged it in after about 10 minutes I had almost instant hot water. Happy wifey and all that.So far so good.I have a GSW spacesaver heater at the cottage that stopped working so I bought this to replace it. Then my neighbour suggested that since heater was not that old I could just replace the heat element instead. I replaced the element and now it works perfectly. I am keeping this one for future use. Two items of note: 1) element replacement is much easier if you use a 1.5 inch socket wrench instead of pliers. 2) Do not power up a water heater if it is not full of water. (I know, I know, duuh) My wife went up to the cottage before I did.I bought this to install under the kitchen sink at my farm. We have to ration water so waiting for hot water to get to the kitchen sink from the house water heater is a waste of water. This unit is almost instant hot water for when you just want to wash your hands or rinse a dish. It was easy to install, didn't take up too much room but you do need a dedicated circuit as it does draw 12 amps. I knew I was going to be using one of these units so I wired a separate outlet under the sink when it was under construction. I plumbed this into the hot water line and there is a warning on the unit that says if you do this that the temperature of the water from the house water heater should not be hotter that what you have set on the mini unit. Will see what the lifespan is of this unit, hopefully many years. The kitchen sink in our bungalow is roughly 50 feet from the water heater. It took most of a minute to get truly hot water to the sink. It was frustrating and very wasteful. I thought of buying one of these heaters but thought they were too expensive. But I finally bought a 2.5 gallon unit and it has been a life changer! It took me a while to figure out the right plumbing adapters (the instructions weren't very specific) and to install a dedicated power outlet but it was all worth it. After one month it is still working perfectly and I'm very pleased with this purchase! It is so nice to have hot water immediately. Our hot water tank is quite a distance from our kitchen sink so it would take a while for the water to become warm. Now it is basically instant. It was easy to install and I believe we have received good value for money.
