I have had aquariums much of my life and never tried a heater like this one. I went from 3 heaters in my 120 gallon tank struggling to keep the temperature just right to consistent temperature all the time with just one of these. The temperature has been a consistent 78 degrees, but for some reason it will not go any higher, that is warm enough for my tank so not an issue for me. I would recommend.*Do not leave turned on out of the water, the housing will melt, learned that the hard way.I bought the 300w model for my 40 gallon breeder tank. The directing for setup were easy to use and get going. The heater made short work of getting my tank up by 3 degrees in what seemed like mere minutes. So far I'm very impressed with this thing. The heater itself seems like a high quality made product. The box it comes in is very well packed and quality as well.I bought the 300 watt N series for a 55 gallon reef tank that I previously didn't need to worry about heating much due to inefficient lighting. For the price I really enjoy the temperature readout display and the variable wattage output during heating. The display shows the current wattage being used while heating and I was pleasantly surprised the the wattage reading was usually within 25 watts of the reading my smart plug was giving. The temperature reading is within 0.5 degrees of other thermometers out of the box and can be calibrated if necessary. It's been running for awhile now and keeping the temp within 1 degree of the setpoint and so far has never overshot by more than 0.2 degrees. Didn't give it a 5 star review because I question the longevity of the heating coil. They claim it's made of carbon fiber but it appears to be a standard heating element material like you would find in a toaster oven. The heating element even glows while heating. This is clearly a Chinese designed product as there is a lot of grammatical mistakes in the manual but it doesn't appear to be a cheap knock off of a competitors product. Will give further updates in a month.I bought this heater for the many features and setting options but no paperwork or instructions were included in the sealed package. Disappointed. I have no idea what all the abbreviations mean or how to change any settingsThis really is a great heater, however you cannot get it to stick to the glass with the provided suction cups which makes it very inconvenient.This is a high quality heater. I have the 500 watt in a 125 gallon aquarium and the temperature never fluctuates. I will definitely buy another one the next time I need a heater.Please let me know how to switch to F from CThe controller is absolutely awsome the heater also awsome its kinda bulky but rather visually appealing compared to some generic heaters. Running in a 30 gallon tall it doesn't miss a beat.It has an awsome variable wattage system that only gives the heater the power it needs to stabilize temp rather than just cranking non stop fullblast till it hits temp. At night the controller automatically drops the temp 1°f using photo sensor since nights are naturally cooler. Will be pairing this with sun/sunset simulator for sure.
